About the Therapist

Experience and Qualifications

I'm a certified eating disorder specialist, credentialed through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.  As a licensed certified social worker, I seek to create change in micro and macro systems by challenging weight bias, contributing to research, staying involved in insurance parity legislation for ED coverage, and educating individuals and groups on this topic. I have been professionally treating eating disorders since 2000 and started a private practice in 2005.  In 2012, I was a founding member of the Eating Disorders Coalition of Arkansas, a non-profit organization to promote recovery, education, prevention, and support for medical professionals, clients, and loved ones of clients. throughout the state.

About the Therapy

Treatment Philosophy

I have a holistic, anti-diet approach to healing problems with     food  and body image. Sometimes eating disorders   are about food   and weight, but they're more often about deeper pain   that has been   too difficult to feel or heal.  By integrating medical knowledge with the   healing arts, it is possible to uncover reasons for sabotage and   get   on the way to a happier, more fulfilling life, free from obsessions   and   self-frustration.  Whether you have mild food anxieties, dislike your   body, or are suffering with an eating disorder, there is hope!
